Galesburg Public Library Groundbreaking Ceremony

Join us as we celebrate the start of construction of the new Galesburg Public Library! The Groundbreaking Ceremony will be held at the new building site, 264 W Main St, and will feature special guest, Secretary of State Jesse White. Other speakers include Mayor Peter Schwartzman, architects from FEH Design, and members of the Library Board of Trustees and the Library Foundation Board.
Following the ceremony, we will celebrate the new building with a reception at the current library, 40 E Simmons St. Everyone is welcome to drop in between 4:30 and 6:30 PM for refreshments and giveaways.
“Building Challenge Accepted: “Children, teens, and families may stop by the upstairs meeting room to accept a building challenge with a variety of construction materials. Hard hats will be provided to all builders.
While you are here, take a construction photo in front of the green screen and enter to win a door prize. Pick up a packet of wildflower seeds so you can watch your flowers grow as the library grows.
