Auditions for “The Mousetrap”

Prairie Players Civic Theatre will be hosting auditions for their next production Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. Auditions will be held at Prairie Players Civic Theatre’s black box theatre located at 160 South Seminary Street on Saturday, May 18th at 1pm and Sunday, May 19th at 4pm. The production will be directed by Kenny Knox. Mr. Knox will be casting five men and three women. Rehearsals will begin the last week in May, the production will open July 12th and close July 21st.

Experience is not required to audition. Individuals who audition will be ask to read from the script. Prairie Players encourages all individuals who have an interest in theatre to audition for a production.

Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap is the world’s longest running play! A group of strangers is stranded in a boarding house during a snow storm, one of whom is a murderer. The suspects include the newly married couple who run the house, and the suspicions in their minds nearly wreck their perfect marriage. Others are a spinster with a curious background, an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef, a retired Army major, a strange little man who claims his car has overturned in a drift, and a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. Into their midst comes a policeman, traveling on skis. He no sooner arrives, when the jurist is killed. To get to the rationale of the murderer’s pattern, the policeman probes the background of everyone present, and rattles a lot of skeletons.
