County board approves purchase of new patrol units

Knox County Sheriff’s office will be getting two new patrol cars, after the County approved the purchase unanimously.
In total the new patrol cars will cost the county almost 52-thousand dollars after trade in on the older cruisers. The county board also approved several other agenda items that came out of the county committees.

Out of the building committee, the board approved invoices for Hein Construction on work to the county jail and Otto Baum for their work on the courthouse.

From the finance committee, the prevailing wage resolution was passed as was a requirement for liability insurance needs for all third party vendors hired by the county.

One measure that failed was the appointment of Knox County Board member Sara Varner to a two-year term on the Board of Review. That vote ended 5-yeas, 5-nays, and 1 abstention.
