Costa Catholic Academy will be pushing back the first day of school for students.
In a Facebook post by the catholic school, Principal Fr. Jacob Rose said that postponement of the first day of school is to help teachers get ready for in-person and online instruction.
The first day of school for fifth through eighth-graders will be Wednesday, September 2, and will only be a half-day.
First through fourth grades will begin school the next day, September 3, joining the older grade levels for another half-day.
And all students will be in the building for a half-day on Friday, September 4, when Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten joins the rest of the students.
Rose said that they want to make sure all safety precautions and materials are in place before students are back in the building.
Rose apologizes for any inconvenience caused with making childcare arrangements but adds that he wants to make sure all safety precautions and materials are in place before students are back in the building.
He says that the impact on the school calendar should be minimal.
