Plenty of events for good causes this weekend

The Galesburg Christian School Fall Banquet is Friday, October 25th at Cedar Creek Hall in Galesburg. The school will be celebrating successes through personal stories by students, teachers, donors, volunteers, and families. The inspiring evening is from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The OAKS Senior Center breakfast is Saturday, October 26th from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. The breakfast is open to the public and is for a free-will donation. The menu includes pancakes, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and a beverage.
First Church of the Nazarene in Galesburg is hosting a Countdown to Christmas Craft and Vendor Fair on Saturday, October 26th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The fair is a fundraiser for NazKids and Switch Youth Ministries. Food will be available for purchase. The church will also be collecting new items for Galesburg Forgotten Initiative during this event. The Forgotten Initiative is an organization that supports local foster families and they are primarily in need of new baby items.

The Williamsfield United Methodist Church is hosting its Annual Turkey Supper on Saturday, October 26th. Beginning at 4:30 pm, it will be a complete turkey supper with dessert – the cost is $12.
Galesburg High School Boys’ Basketball Trivia Night is Saturday, October 26th at Cedar Creek Hall. Doors open at 5:30pm with trivia beginning at 6:30pm. It will be a variety of regular trivia and music trivia with 10-person teams. Cost is $110 per team. The night will also feature raffles, a silent auction, plus hot dogs, nachos and snacks.
Head to the Monmouth College Dahl Chapel on Sunday, October 27th for the Monmouth College Wind Ensemble. Beginning at 2:00pm, the concert is free and open to the public.
The concert will open with the piece “Early Light” by Carolyn Bremer, which is a musical play on the “Star-Spangled Banner”. The ensemble will also feature the works of Alfred Reed, Percy Grainger, and Malcolm Arnold.
