Meet January 2026 KFM Teacher of the Month

105.3 KFM along with Nissan of Galesburg congratulate January’s KFM Teacher of the MonthMegan Thornton  — a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher at Harding School in Monmouth.  Megan was nominated by Nicole Kindhart. As KFM’s teacher of the Month, Megan receives the Big Red Apple Award with her name engraved on it from Lacky Monuments along with a $100 gift card from Tompkins State Bank and a bouquet from Cooks-N-Company. Here’s what Nicole had to say about Megan:

Briefly, tell us about your teacher. Give specific examples of what your teacher does to earn him/her an A+?I know there are a lot of great teachers, but Mrs Thorton she is truly one of a kind! I want to nominate Mrs. Thornton for Teacher of the Month because her impact reaches far beyond the classroom walls. She has a remarkable way of seeing each child for who they truly are—celebrating their strengths, nurturing their struggles, and making them feel valued in a world that often rushes them. Her kindness is steady, her patience unwavering, and her belief in her students is something they carry with them long after the school day ends. Mrs. Thornton doesn’t just teach lessons; she changes lives in the small, quiet moments that matter the most. Our school, our kids, and our community are better because of the love and dedication she pours into every single day.

Congratulations Megan Thornton, January’s KFM Teacher of the Month, from Nissan of Galesburg, Tompkins State Bank, Cooks-n-Company, Lacky Monuments and 105.3 KFM
