along with Nissan of Galesburg congratulate October’s KFM Teacher of the MonthTraci Sharp  — a life skills teacher at Galesburg Jr/Sr High School.  Traci was nominated by Mary McDermott, who’s daughter is a student in her class.  As KFM’s teacher of the Month, Traci receives the Big Red Apple Award with her name engraved on it from Lacky Monuments along with a $100 gift card from Tompkins State Bank and a bouquet from Cooks-N-Company. Here’s what she had to say about Traci:

Tell us about your teacher. Give specific examples of what your teacher does to earn him/her an A+?
My daughter started in the junior high this year, and I was very nervous about the transition. She had suffered a bunch of health issues during middle school, and I was afraid the transition to the junior high would be too challenging. Ms Sharp has welcomed her and allowed her to bloom in this new environment. Ms Sharp works with her students on academics and life skills. In addition to reading and math subjects, with Ms Sharp, my daughter has the chance to navigate shopping, cooking, and other real world situations, which will help prepare her for her future. Ms Sharp has an amazing classroom where children with special needs can develop their talents and learn practical skills. Ms Sharp also supervises the Special Olympics teams – my daughter gets to bowl and play basket ball and do activities that might otherwise be closed to her. Ms Sharp is a blessing- she looks out for the kids and always thinks about how she can help them learn and grow and experience life.

Congratulations Traci Sharp, October’s KFM Teacher of the Month, from Nissan of Galesburg, Tompkins State Bank, Cooks-n-Company, Lacky Monuments and 105.3 KFM
