Congratulations to our latest recipient of the Big Red Apple Award – Mandy Andrews – from Galesburg Christian School. ‘Miss Mandy’ was nominated by Paislee Corbin a student at Galesburg Christian School. As KFM’s Teacher of the Month, Mandy receives the Big Red Apple Award with her name engraved on it from Lacky Monuments. Along with a $100 gift card from Tompkins State Bank and a bouquet from Cooks-n-Company. Here’s what Paislee had to say about Amanda:
What sets this teacher apart from others?
She is so amazing, she is goes above and beyond to help the students, the teachers, the staff and the parents feel so important and loved. She is always there when I need her and makes everyone feel extra special and important. Ms. Mandy is not my teacher, she is an administrative assistant, but she teaches all of us in so many ways without being in our classroom. Please help me make her feel as special as she makes us all feel.
What is one thing this teacher does that is not in their job description but they do it anyway to help you or your child?
Ms. Mandy skips her lunch hour and her breaks and stays late to make sure that we are all taken care of. We really do love her.
Give an example of a way this teacher has helped or impacted you or your child.
Ms. Mandy is so selfless, she gives up so much for so many. She is so selfless and caring. She would do anything for her students. She is an example of what selfless and caring is all about. I appreciate you considering Ms. Mandy, she really is deserving.
