Here’s what Kristin had to say about Brittny:

What sets this teacher apart from others?
My son Joseph attends Kindergarten at Knoxville’s Mable Woolsey Elementary School in Mrs. Hageman’s class. I also have a daughter in second grade who had Mrs. Hageman for Kindergarten. Mrs. Hageman is by far one of the best teachers in Education. Mrs. Hageman is full of positivity (she is always smiling), creativity and passion for helping children learn. The last couple of years in education have been absolutely crazy in dealing with the effects of COVID. Many students like Joseph have come into a full-time classroom with less than normal preparations for kindergarten due to COVID. Mrs. Hageman has not let these difficult times take away from the education of her students. Not only does she promote the highest level of education, she does it in a way that really meets the needs of each individual student and that reaches them on their level. Her energy, positivity and passion really help her students learn in the best way possible.

What is one thing this teacher does that is not in their job description but they do it anyway to help you or your child?
Mrs. Hageman genuinely cares about her students and loves to teach them, and goes above and beyond to be available. In all of our meetings Mrs. Hageman always has a funny or cute story to tell me about my son that has made her day and her reactions to him show me that she cares. Mrs. Hageman is always available to answer my questions or consult with me way more than she needs to be, and also does so with an open mind and compassionate attitude. She is just so helpful and I’m so grateful to have her as a teacher for my kids.

Give an example of a way this teacher has helped or impacted you or your child.
My son has had issues in meeting his educational goals this year and Mrs. Hageman has been wonderful in communicating with me about him. Mrs. Hageman has been instrumental in finding solutions that help keep him engaged in learning, which is tough to do. Mrs. Hageman has been wonderfully resourceful in identifying issues, as well as finding tools for him and implementing solutions that have been successful. Despite these issues Joseph absolutely loves Mrs. Hageman! He tells me that she is his “school mom” and that “she is the just best!”

Once again, congratulations Brittny Hageman for being named April’s KFM Teacher of the Month from Galesburg Nissan, Tompkins State Bank, Cooks & Company, Lacky Monuments and 105.3 KFM
