Something about me that you may not know: My senior year in college I traveled to England and France as part of a study abroad program. I got to visit schools in England

Here’s what Kate had to say about Lindsey:

What sets this teacher apart from others?
Mrs. VanOpdorp is very patient and understanding. She works hard to help all of her students. She makes learning fun! Her classroom is a place where students can grow and succeed. She has dedicated herself to being the best teacher she can be and the world needs more teachers like her!

What is one thing this teacher does that is not in their job description but they do it anyway to help you or your child?
Mrs. VanOpdorp is a team player. She helps others and goes out of her way to support her students and their families. She really cares about the people at Mable and the school is lucky to have her.

Give an example of a way this teacher has helped or impacted you or your child.
During the first week of school my daughter came home and said, “mom, Mrs. VanOpdorp just gets me!” She clearly takes her time to get to know her students and makes them feel like they are important. She has really helped my daughter to gain confidence in herself this year and she has already learned so much from her. She makes Mable Woolsey and special place every day.

Once again, congratulations Lindsey VanOpdorp for being named December’s KFM Teacher of the Month from Galesburg Nissan, Tompkins State Bank, Cooks & Company, Lacky Monuments and 1o5.3 KFM
