Here’s what Lillian had to say about Michelle:

What sets this teacher apart from others?
Ms. Jefferson is always willing to help, she answers very quickly. Ms. Jefferson is very good with communicating to me and the other students. She makes everything in our classroom more fun and enjoyable. Ms. Jefferson will encourage me and others to work. While she is working she tries to make the topic more interesting, she is very funny and open with her students. Ms. Jefferson always has something for us, it can be an assignment or a fun activity to do. Ms. Jefferson is one of my favorite teachers, and is one of the best teachers I have ever had.

What is one thing this teacher does that is not in their job description but they do it anyway to help you or your child?
Ms. Jefferson always checks on every student and makes sure they are not struggling. Ms. Jefferson also uses her free time to reply to my emails, or help me. Ms. Jefferson will also join in activities with us, she is always making sure we are doing good. Ms. Jefferson has and will talk to me if I need help, even if the help I need is not school related. She shares with us the things happening in her life, and always makes sure everyone is heard. Ms. Jefferson is always on top of everything. Ms. Jefferson always congratulates us no matter how well we did.

Give an example of a way this teacher has helped or impacted you or your child.
Ms. Jefferson has helped me a lot. Last year (5th grade) I was struggling a lot to do my work, I never wanted to do the work so I didn’t. Ms. Jefferson talked with me privately and encouraged me to work and told me she is always available if I need help. This school year Ms. Jefferson knew that I was very nervous during our presentation, she helped me and gave me a couple seconds to calm down, and told me I can do it. Ms. Jefferson has also helped me get caught up on missing assignments I had, she messaged me and offered to help me. She told me what I need to do and helped check if I was getting the assignments done and if I was understanding them.

Congratulations Michelle Jefferson, May’s KFM Teacher of the Month from Galesburg Nissan, Tompkins State Bank, Lacky Monuments, Cooks & Company, and 105.3 KFM.
