One of the largest car shows in Illinois is not happening this year.
The Maple City Cruise Night, hosted by the Maple City Street Machines car club, has canceled the summer event this year.
In a post on Facebook, the car club indicated that club members voted to cancel the event, usually held in August. This year was to mark the 22nd year of the summer event.
The free event brings tens of thousands of people to the City of Monmouth as classic cars line the city’s main street and downtown area.
The Maple City Street Machines Facebook post says they plan to hold an event in 2021.
The car club as not responded to WGIL’s request for comment.
