Knoxville native now a published children’s book author

A Knoxville native and Monmouth College alum is now a published author. Noah Emery has independently published a new children’s book titled Kevin’s First Flight. The book features Kevin the cardinal who is nervous about taking his first flight and where it may take him. Emery, who now lives in Ohio with his wife and two kids, graduated from Monmouth with a political science major and has worked in higher education administering since 2011. The book also features watercolor illustrations by another Monmouth College alum and Burlington, Iowa native – Lindsay Cocquit. Cocquit graduated from Monmouth with a degree in art and education – she now lives in Peoria and is currently a high school art teacher. The book was published by Orange Frazer Press in Wilmington, Ohio. Kevin’s First Flight is intended for 2 to 8-year-olds.  According to a press release by Emery, the book is the “perfect gift for baby showers, birthdays and the first day of school.” You can order Kevin’s First Flight online here.
