Galesburg man given 21 months in federal prison for impersonating officer

A 21-year-old Galesburg man was handed a 21-month prison sentence on Monday in federal court on charges of impersonating a federal officer.Fulk will serve the sentence consecutively with three misdemeanors he was convicted of in Wisconsin, in separate jurisdictions, followed by a year of parole.

A woman told Galesburg Police in May of 2018 that a man, later identified as Fulk, knocked on her car door and tried to arrest her.

She said he claimed to be a U.S. Marshal who was “investigating her harassment of his family” and tried to place her in handcuffs.

Fulk then ran off as the woman called for a relative, but was apprehended once officers arrived.
