Galesburg police officers are investigating a home invasion that occurred Sunday morning.
According to reports officers were dispatched to the 1200-block of S. Cherry Street for a call that a robbery had just occurred and a vehicle may have been stolen.
Victims told police that a skinny black male wearing a dark colored mask and armed with a handgun entered their residence. He ordered them to the ground and bound them with ripped up articles of clothing.
Reports indicate the subject was in the home for a period of time. The residents were able to break free from their bonds and escape to a neighbors residence who then notified police.
A range of items were taken including seven firearms – both rifles and handguns, a Red Rider BB gun, cell phone, a wallet, purse and around $600 in cash. Also taken was a 2001 blue Dodge pick-up truck.
Officers did locate several items scattered across the roadway down Davis street.
