Galesburg Police are investigating a weekend battery and theft.
According to police reports, a 33-year-old man informed officers he had been beaten and his wallet taken by a group of individuals after a party.
He told officers Sunday that he had been at a house party in the 1500-block of Meadow Drive after the bars closed. He was not sure of the exact address and he did not know the owners of the residence.
After the party had ended he was leaving when a group of 8-to-12 individuals jumped him. The 33-year-old believed they came from a tan SUV.
He told police he had not seen these people before, but they attacked him. They allegedly kicked and hit him in the head and sides.
Officers noted lacerations and abrasions to his face and red marks on his back and sides. The 33-year-old had his wallet taken during the attack.
