Annual Donor Campaign underway for Knox County YMCA

Early this month, the Knox County YMCA kicked-off it’s annual donor campaign. Throughout the past year, Y employees were able to raise over $10,000. With three locations in Knox County and countless programs and services offered, the annual campaign helps support much of the Y’s entities. Membership fees to the YMCA account for 60% of the organization’s revenue each year. Besides facility upkeep, the Y relies on donations to help support its before and after school programs, the early learning center, and the solutions program. Kelly Corbin, Assistant Executive Director tells WGIL the Y offers so many programs, that it’s important to show how they get supported.

“You may not know everything that we do,” explains Corbin, “but we are very transparent with what we do with your membership fees, what we do with our annual support campaign, and fundraising. There is a banner when you enter our wellness center that tells you what we do with all your membership fees like where they go and what is done with all our support fundraising. So I believe we are very transparent  with all those.”

To donate, join, or to see everything the YMCA has to offer, visit any three of the Knox County locations, or visit knoxymca.org.
