The second installment of Real Estate Tax in Knox County comes due on Wednesday.
A reminder sent out by county Treasurer Robin Davis urges citizens to have payments placed by mail with a postmark date no later than September 6th, or in the designated drop boxes found on the courthouse grounds by 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 7th.
Most major credit and debit cards will be accepted – with an additional fee being issued to the taxpayer – by phone at 877-690-3729 with jurisdiction code 7020 but must be done by midnight of the 6th or online by clicking here
The Treasurer’s office is also accepting credit and debit card payments with the same fees applying.
Additionally, payments are being accepted at Knox County banks – with exception to Wells Fargo.
Statutory penalties will be applied for failure to pay on time beginning on September 7th.
