Police investigating theft of guns, video games

The Galesburg Police Department is investigating the reported theft of nearly $10,000 in guns and video games.

According to police reports, officers responded last Thursday to a residence in the 100 block of Duval Avenue where a gun safe, several rare video games a 60 inch TV and an Xbox One were missing.

Police observed pry marks to the front door of the residence.

The victim told police his gun safe held between 20 and 25 firearms, including revolvers, rifles and semi-automatic pistols.

The total value stolen was calculated at $9,892. The victim said he believed the burglary occurred the Wednesday night.

Police are investigating possible suspects. No arrests have been made at this time.
