Galesburg man killed; Police investigate alleged robbery

A Galesburg man was pronounced dead at the scene of a possible robbery early this morning. 

In a news release, Galesburg Police say 19-year-old Dakota R. Tinkham was found unresponsive inside his home. Police responded to a report of a robbery at 1126 Emery Street shortly before midnight last night.

Upon entry, officers found Tinkham unresponsive in a bedroom with a gunshot wound. Knox County Coroner Mark Thomas pronounced Tinkham dead at 12:11 a.m.

The incident remains under investigation at this time and authorities are asking that anyone with information regarding the incident contact GPD or Galesburg Area Crime Stoppers.
