Live auction fundraiser for local man diagnosed with cancer tonight

A live auction fundraiser to assist with medical bills for a Galesburg community member suffering from pancreatic cancer is going on tonight in town.

Chris Heimann grew up in town, played basketball at GHS, and graduated from Knox College before being diagnosed with cancer.

A fundraiser tonight to benefit Chris is at Cherry Street Restaurant between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. and a longtime friend of Heimann, Kimi Fox, tells WGIL that the live auction will include a lot of high-dollar items, “Chicago Bears tickets, Blackhawks tickets, [we even have] a signed jersey from Corey Crawford. So people need to come, it’s going to be really exciting and fun.”

In addition to the auction, there will be a raffle for Beats by Dre Headphones, Nike Products, Blackhawks tickets, a Samsung 50″ UHD Smart TV, and a whole lot more. The live auction begins at 6:00 p.m.

A Go Fund Me page has been established as well at gofundme.com/team-chris-letsgo
