Starting Thursday night the westbound lanes on Interstate 74 from Galesburg to Woodhull will be shut down for work.
In a news releases, the Illinois Department of Transportation stated that emergency work will need to take place for a 10-hour time period.
Starting at 8:00 p.m. Thursday until 6:00 a.m. Friday morning, 74 will be closed to westbound traffic beginning between the Highway 34 interchange which is exit 46 to the Illinois 17 interchange which is exit 32 near Woodhull.
Westbound traffic will be detoured to U.S. Highway 34 west to U.S. Highway 150 north then to Illinois 17 back to Interstate 74.
It was not immediately clear the extent of the “emergency work” being done.
