205 Board of Education to consider approval of mental health pilot program

District 205’s Board of Education will consider the approval of an agreement with Bridgeway for a pilot program of Mental Health Services for Lombard Middle School at tonight’s meeting.
Earlier in the year Lombard Principal Nick Sutton approached the board with this proposal, citing the mental health needs of students in his school, and the amount of money being spent on crises involved.

The agreement would involve Bridgeway receiving over 72-thousand dollars in Federal Title One grant money to hire a masters level mental health professional who would assess and treat individuals, provide crises services, and coordinate community and medical services.

The board will also consider the approval of the tentative fiscal year 2018 District and Galesburg Area Vocational Center budgets.
