Walgreens pharmacist arrested for stealing pills

Police arrested a Walgreens pharmacist after allegations came to light yesterday morning that the Galesburg woman had been stealing pills from her East Main Street employer.

Lindy B. Waggoner is free on $25,000 bond. Police arrested the 34-year-old suspect on charges of theft and possession of more than 15 grams of a controlled substance.

According to police reports, Walgreens asset protection personnel told officers Waggoner had been stealing Adderral pills starting around Christmas of last year.

About 500 pills were missing, worth approximately $674. Waggoner is said to have informed her employer that she would repay the amount.

At the time of Waggoner’s arrest, police seized the suspect’s backpack, which contained a large quantity of prescription pills. Because Waggoner could not provide proof of prescription, she was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Nearly 25 grams in pills were seized. Waggoner’s employment at Walgreens was terminated prior to her arrest.
