Meet February’s KFM Teacher of the Month: Barb Sandstrom

105.3 KFM along with Galesburg Nissan, Tompkins State Bank, Lacky Monuments and Casey’s Party Creations congratulate Barb Sandstrom, a 7th grade science teacher at Lombard Middle School, as February’s KFM Teacher of the Month.  Barb was nominated by one of her students, Cjay Atwater. And this is what Cjay had to say about his teacher:

What sets this teacher apart from others? She makes kids laugh.

What is one thing this teacher does, that may not be part of their job, but they do it anyway to help you or your child? She always ask if there is something wrong.

Give an example of a way that this teacher has helped or impacted you or your child.: Mrs. Sandstrom brings in animals so we can study them and we can take pics with them. This year she brought in a baby tiger named Tank and a baby kangaroo and we got to hold it and pet it. She always makes science class fun. One day she told everyone in my class you can do it just believe and try  and don’t give up. She always makes everyone laugh. She is one of the best teachers in the whole universe. And we do the whip called watch me Nae Nae. She is amazing.

As KFM’s Teacher of the Month, Barb receives the Big Red Apple Award, a $100 gift card, and balloons. Honoring teachers who make a difference with the Big Red Apple Award from Galesburg Nissan, Tompkins State Bank, Lacky Monuments, Casey’s Party Creations and 105.3 KFM.
