Central Illinois Ballet presents The Phantom of the Opera

Central Illinois Ballet presents Artistic Director Rebekah von Rathonyi’s vision of the classic story of the Phantom of the Opera. Based on the novel by Gaston Leroux, the audience is transported to the Paris Opera during the nineteenth century.
From his origin as an abused, disfigured young circus attraction to the development of his love for the beautiful Christine, and through to the culmination of the story we all know, this masterful telling brings the audience into a world of sorrow, joy, desperation, beauty, loss and love–all told through the most passionate and beautiful performing art of classical ballet.
