Battle for the Alley Area Street Art Competition

On Saturday, June 25th, the Battle for the Alley returns! The Galesburg Civic Art Center will host the Battle for the Alley street art competition in Park Plaza from 4-7pm, featuring up to twenty artists who will compete for the title of King or Queen of the Alley. Watching and voting for your favorite artist is FREE.
Live music will begin in Park Plaza at 1pm, kicking it off with the amazing duo Zak and Erin, followed by the talented Cedar County Cobras, then a local favorite, The Memphis Dives take the stage!
Artists will be provided an easel and a 3’x5’ Masonite board, and most will bring their own supplies to create a work of art that will be installed at a later date in a different alley from last year – behind Budde’s and Sidetrax. On display to the public, subject matter cannot have profanity, inappropriate content, such as nudity, drugs, etc, and the Art Center reserves the right to prohibit display of any work not conforming to these suggestions. Artists must register to participate prior to June 11, the cost is $30 and includes swag and the opportunity for cash prizes!
Park Plaza will be crazy with activity – with live music beginning at 1pm and the opportunity to Tag a Trailer! Last year’s Queen of the Alley is Julia Polay…who will this year’s winner be? YOU decide!
