Auditions for “Calendar Girls”

Prairie Players Civic Theatre will hold auditions for Calendar Girls (based on the Miramax film by Tim Firth) on Monday, February 4, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. and Tuesday, February 5, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at Prairie Players Theatre, 160 South Seminary Street, Galesburg, Illinois.
Director for the show is Anne Carman-Hendel. Cast requirements are 10 women ages 35-70 and four men ages 20-70. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
Following the death of her husband from leukemia, Annie and her best friend, Chris, resolve to raise money for a new settee in the hospital waiting room. They persuade fellow members of the Women’s Institute to pose with them for an “alternative” calendar. As media interest snowballs, the girls find themselves exposed in ways they never expected.
Performances will be at Prairie Players Civic Theatre on Fridays, April 5 and 12, and Saturdays, April 6 and 13, at 7:30 p.m. Matinee performances will be on Sundays, April 7 and 14, at 2 p.m.
