23-year-old man arrested on methamphetamine possession

A business check at Casey’s General Store on Main Street lead to two arrests on Tuesday, one for alleged methamphetamine possession.

Officers conducting the business check at the West main Street location were departing the parking lot when they identified the alleged driver of a black 2007 Pontiac as 23-year-old Spencer M. J. Fletcher. Fletcher was known to Galesburg Police for having a suspended driving licenses.

According to police reports, officers made contact with him to which he admitted he was aware of his license being suspended.

The passenger in the Pontiac was identified as 33-year-old Joshua A. Lundeen. Officers discovered that Lundeen had valid Knox County warrants out for his failure to appear in court on driving charges.

Both individuals were searched with no contraband being found.

Fletcher would tell officers that he had a pipe concealed inside a knee brace he was wearing. Officers found it and identified it as one that was used for ingesting methamphetamine. He also admitted that there was meth inside the car he was driving – but denied it belonged to him.

Officers initially did not find any drugs in the vehicle, only a fur hat. Fletcher would tell police that the meth was inside of it – leading officers to find a baggie with a white crystallized substance in the front upper folds of the hat.

Both Lundeen and Fletcher were taken to the Knox County Jail for processing.

The suspected meth field tested positive and was sent to the Illinois State Police Crime Lab for further analysis.
