Galesburg Veterans Day Parade

November 12, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The parade will take the usual route through downtown Galesburg starting at Seminary and Main Streets, and end at the Knox County Courthouse, starting at 2pm.

The parade will have the GHS, Costa and Monmouth pipe bands this year. Music will also be played live by Mended Pieces church and others.

Both local IL Army National Guard units will be represented. They are the 444th Chemical Co. and the 661st Engineer Detachment.

Local businesses, scouting organizations, veterans groups, car clubs, fire departments and honor flight groups will all be in attendance as well. The Patriot Guard will clear the road before the parade as a symbol that the parade is coming.

The color guard will be the front if the parade followed by Grand Marshall, State Rep. Dan Swanson, riding in an Army jeep driven by the owner of Lacky Monuments.

Following the parade, there will once again be a ceremony on the Knox County Courthouse lawn. State Rep. Dan Swanson and Mayor John Pritchard will speak.
