
Monmouth-Roseville and Farmington advanced to the quarterfinal round after winning IHSA State Football Playoff second-round games Saturday.
In Class 3A, Monmouth-Roseville edged previously unbeaten Bloomington Central Catholic 29-28. The Titans (10-1) will face top-seed Richmond Burton in the state quarterfinals.
Farmington downed Aurora Christian 21-14 in Class 2A at Farmington. The Farmers, 11-0, take on El Paso Gridley in the quarterfinals.
In Class 1A, unbeaten Annawan Wethersfield went on the road and topped Deer Creek-Mackinaw 33-26. Annawan Wethersfield takes on Lena (L.-Winslow) in the quarterfinals. Also in Class 1A, No. 1 Rockridge fell 21-14 to Downs Tri Valley.
Geneseo shut out Macomb 29-0 in a Class 4A second-round game.
In Class 6A, Dunlap topped Crete Monte 28-21. The Eagles will take on Burbank (St. Laurence) in the quarterfinals.
Moline fell to Glenbard North 22-14 in Class 7A.
