105.3 KFM along with Nissan of Galesburg congratulates October’s KFM Teacher of the Month — Lexi DeMott — a teacher, coach and Dean of Students at Galesburg High School. Lexi was nominated by April Martinez. As KFM’s Teacher of the Month, Lexi receives the Big Red Apple Award with her name engraved on it from Lacky Monuments along with a $100 gift card from Tompkins State Bank and a bouquet from Cooks-N-Company. Here’s what April had to say about Lexi:
What sets this teacher apart from others?
Lexi has been apart of the community since she started school at King , moving onto Lombard and graduating at GHS in 2016.
She has shown her leadership on and off the court , that natural smile of security, her experiences give knowledge to hear, listen, and be mindful of others.
What is one thing this teacher does that is not in their job description but they do it anyway to help you or your child?
Lexi stays late and goes in early from being a coach, Dean of Students, and an elementary teacher with zero complaints. She has never left anyone alone in whatever their issues maybe in one’s life. From family , friends, co workers, adults or children at any age , she is the first to lend a hand, give advice, find the support one can use to make that climb of hope easier. These are some of Lexi ‘s many qualities one will see immediately. Her determination shows that her job description fits her well. She has never seemed to be better than others, admires her co-workers and accepts advice.
Give an example of a way this teacher has helped or impacted you or your child.
Her passion was natural and apparent early in life. Always willing to assist classmates and the teachers that taught her at all levels. Once she entered the world of sports from tumbling, soccer, hard ball, softball, volleyball. and basketball people recognized her strengths and desires. She believes in our community with all her heart and will never give up on Galesburg, Illinois
Congratulations Lexi DeMott from Nissan of Galesburg, Tompkins State Bank, Cooks-n-Company, Lacky Monuments and 105.3 KFM
