Congratulations to November’s KFM Teacher of the Month — Connie Krans — a second grade teacher at Williamsfield Elementary School. Connie was nominated by Mallory Motz who’s son Weston is a student in Connie’s class. As KFM’s Teacher of the Month, Connie receives the Big Red Apple Award with her name engraved on it from Lacky Monuments. Along with a $100 gift card from Tompkins State Bank and a bouquet from Cooks-n-Company. Here’s what Mallory had to say about Connie:
What sets this teacher apart from others?
She has different rewards for the kids to keep them motivated. She has a reading contract and spelling word contract, every evening your child is to read for 20 minutes and the parent has to sign the paper, for spelling you have to study spelling words and the parent has to sign that paper also. This is a weekly contract and when the students complete their punch card they will be offered 10 minutes extra of recess.
What is one thing this teacher does that is not in their job description but they do it anyway to help you or your child?
She has sent home papers that he can work on at home and a number chart that he uses in class to use at home while practicing.
Give an example of a way this teacher has helped or impacted you or your child.
I have really noticed a change in him this school year. He has really improved and seems to be doing well in school. He tells me all the time that he loves his teacher. I have just noticed him more positive at home. I just got his report card and had parent/teacher conferences and relieved that he is doing well. I tell everyone I think she is exactly what he needed.
Congratulations Connie Krans from Nissan of Galesburg, Tompkins State Bank, Cooks-n-Company, Lacky Monuments and 105.3 KFM
