Warren County Prime Beef Festival called off because of COVID

Another favorite annual event has become a casualty of COVID-19.
Organizers of the Warren County Prime Beef Festival announced Wednesday that the 72nd annual late summer fest would have to be scrapped

The Festival Board says in a statement they’re disappointed about the cancellation but “felt it was in the best interest of all those in attendance” based on the information they currently have.

Just last month the Board posted they were remaining optimistic about holding the event as they monitored health guidance.

The festival typically runs over 4 days and usually includes a Princess pageant, carnival, parade, and livestock auction.

Warren County, like most Illinois communities, will also not have a county fair this year.

The Board thanks the community for their support and says they look forward to the 2021 Prime Beef Festival.
