A local family will be featured in a commercial airing during the Super Bowl.
Oneida natives Brett and Krista Swanson were Illinois Farm Bureau Excellence in Ag Award winners at the Division IV National Agri-Marketing Association awards for consumer messaging.
The “Illinois Runs on Homegrown Corn” commercial highlights the products made from corn – from medicine and ethanol to bioplastics and food packaging. The full video is just under 90 seconds long but will be cut to 30 seconds for the big game.
Krista told RFD “As farmers, we take great pride in sustainably growing a crop that can be used in so many ways.”
The commercial will air in five key markets: Peoria, Champaign/Springfield, Quad Cities, Rockford and St. Louis. IL Corn launched the #FieldGoals campaign, in addition to the commercial, which can be followed online using the #FieldGoals hashtag on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
IL Corn also encourages farmers to use the #FieldGoals hashtag during the game and share why they’re proud to grow Illinois corn all year long. The ad is below.
