Several makeshift signs that disparaged a Galesburg Police were confiscated Monday morning.
According to a report, officers received several calls of the explicit signs being posted at intersections throughout the city.
Between the time of 6:57 and 8:34, officers received two complaints from citizens and located several others during the course of their patrol.
The black and orange “Garage Sale” signs were duct-taped to a posted sign with the white rear portion of the sign facing outwards towards traffic with explicit messages inscribed with a black marker.
Reports indicate that the signs appeared new and were not exposed to the elements and may have been placed in the last 24 hours.
