Trial date set for man accused of stealing truck, forgery

Mar. 18 trial dates have been set for Galesburg men in two separate cases in Knox County Circuit Court.

First, there’s 24-year old Kyle Millkin who was arrested in December after evading officers who were pursuing him in a stolen GMC Sierra out of Springfield.

Several times the pursuit had to be called off due to the danger it presented to the public.

Eventually, police reports say that Millkin crashed the truck and fled on foot.

Millkin will stand before a jury in two weeks facing charges of theft and forgery, not to mention several traffic-related misdemeanors, after a pre-trial hearing was held earlier this week.
If found guilty Millkin could be given a sentence of up to 7 years.

Also going to trial in two weeks is 34-year-old Terry Darst, accused of Class X felonies of armed violence and aggravated meth delivery.

Darst was stopped in Abingdon in January, with around 16 grams of meth and a shotgun.

A charge of felony possession of a weapon was dismissed in court in February.
