Michael Douglas has been cancer free for five years and is not dying despite a National Enquirerstory suggesting the contrary. A rep for the 71-year-old actor, who was diagnosed with tongue cancer in 2010, says “He has five years clear. That means it’s not going to come back in the head and neck world.” The National Enquirer reported that the Oscar-winning actor had suffered a “shocking relapse.” His rep believes the story was was written after Douglas was seen at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York where he receives annual check ups.
