Bond set for man on cocaine delivery charges

Bond was set at $250,000 for a 32-year-old Galesburg man on charges of cocaine possession, including one with intent to deliver.

32-year-old Bryan Kelley made a video appearance in Knox County Court on Wednesday were Judge Raymond A. Cavanaugh set bail and informed Kelley of the possible sentences.

Due to Kelley’s criminal history, he is eligible for extended term sentencing. So if convicted of Cocaine Possession with Intent to Deliver, instead of a 4 to 15-year prison term, he could face a 15 to 30-year prison term.

Kelley had been arrested after a search warrant was executed by Galesburg Police at a home on Garfield Avenue. There, about 15-grams of cocaine were allegedly found. It was also revealed that three minor children had been in the home at the time the warrant was executed leading to Kelley’s arrest.

Judge Cavanaugh told Kelley that because of his prior history bail was being set at a higher amount than what the State’s Attorney’s office requested.

Kelly has a status hearing on November 9th and a preliminary hearing for the 20th.
