County board could approve nursing home architectural/engineering survey

The county board meets tonight for their monthly meeting where an engineering, architectural and surveying agreement could be approved for the Knox County Nursing Home.

Board documents detail that Klingner and Associates’ scope of work would include inspecting the buildings’ shell, such as the roof, exterior walls, windows, flooring, ceiling.

Also included is the evaluation of the building’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing fixtures; such as HVAC system, boiler, hot water piping, furnaces, and condensing units.

The cost to the county would be $9,500.

Also on the agenda for tonight’s meeting is a resolution to bump up courthouse security fees from $25 to $50.

During the August Finance Committee meeting, Sheriff David Clague said that the fee would only apply to individuals who are sentenced.

Several vehicle purchases are on the agenda for the county board, including a new detective’s vehicle for the Sheriff’s Department.

Minutes from an August committee meeting indicate the vehicle is a 2014 Ford pickup truck at a cost of $23,268.

The highway department also has a pickup truck that is being purchased, this one is a 2018 Ford F150 for a cost of $24,160.

Tonight’s meeting at the Galesburg City Council Chambers starts at 6:00 p.m.
