Galesburg woman arrested on two counts of obstruction of justice

A 33-year old woman is facing obstruction of justice charges after a traffic stop Saturday night in Galesburg.

According to police reports, officers pulled over a vehicle being driven by Tahnee D.M. Mountjoy under suspicion of a retail theft that occurred at Walgreens.

A woman matching her description was seen in the retail store, and believed to have taken some merchandise without paying.

She allegedly told officers she didn’t have any stolen items or her drivers license on her and gave officers several false names – before she was recognized and identified.

Officers placed Mountjoy under arrest and conducted a search where they found a glass pipe with white residue as well as a syringe with what officers suspected as heroin. Reports did not indicate any merchandise from Walgreens was found.

The syringe filled with suspected heroine was sent off for testing.

Reports also did not include any drug charges, but she was also charged with misdemeanor driving on a suspended license, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
