Your long weekend includes fundraiser and book signing

With the three-day weekend, there’s plenty to do in the area including a book signing, and eating tacos for a good cause.

The Annual Oneida-Wataga Fire Department Fundraiser is going on Saturday starting at 3 P-M to help raise money for the department to purchase fire equipment.

Events include a silent auction and music being provided by D-J Chris L Grow of WGIL’s sister station – The Laser.
Oneida-Wataga Fire Chief Dustin Steck told WGIL that these fundraiser help cover costs that aren’t covered by taxes and grants.

“The way the economy is and everything it makes the grants tougher and tougher every year to maintain two firehouses, one in Oneida and one in Wataga with multiple pieces of equipment and all the upkeep insurance,” Steck says.

Also going on this weekend is a book signing at Stone Alley Books and Collectibles.

Jill Kaye will be signing books between 11 A-M and 2 P-M, her new children’s book is dedicated to anyone whose life has been touched by cancer and was illustrated by 14-year old Grace Althaus.
