On the agenda for last night’s Knox County Finance Committee was an approval for a leasing contract for farm land adjacent to the Knox County Nursing Home.
Two bids from farmers within the county were accepted, and the winning bid was awarded to Mr. Eagle for $201.13 per acre for the two year lease.
In the year previous the land had been leased for two-hundred dollars an acre.
The property was originally estimated to be twenty-five acres in total, with closer to twenty-three being farmable land.
Previous restrictions on the land prevented corn from being planted, those restrictions have been lifted.
Also on the agenda from last night were approved amendments to the credit card policy for county employees as well as an approval for a transfer of twenty-thousand dollars in funds for the highway department.
Discussion regarding county employee health insurance for next year was tabled.
