Monmouth man injured after car hit by train

A man suffered an fractured eye orbital last night after a single vehicle crash on Warren County Road 110.
It was around 11 p.m. that 24-year old Michael Goodell failed to stop for a stop sign and then drove into a ditch, up an embankment and came to rest with it’s “front end partially on railroad tracks.”

An eastbound train then struck Goodell’s vehicle.

He was transferred to OSF St. Mary’s and then St. Francis in Peoria for treatment of his eye orbital.
