Memorial Day Services
Monday, May 29, 2017
The Abingdon American Legion Post 381 will hold Memorial Day Services on Monday, May 29, 2017 at the following Cemeteries.
9:15 AM – Cherry Grove Cemetery, North of Abingdon.
9:30 AM – Meridian Cemetery, 2.5 miles west of Berwick Road
10:00 AM – Hunt Cemetery, on Rt. 116, 1 mile west of Rt. 41 Junction.
10:15 AM – St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery, Southwest, of St. Augustine off Rt. 41.
10:40 AM – Babbitt Cemetery, .5 miles East of St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery.
11:00 AM – Services will be held to dedicate the new Veteran’s Memorial in Avon. The Annual Parade will continue on to the Avon Cemetery form there.
1:00 PM – Abingdon Cemetery
Services will be held by the Honor Guard and Firing Squad, with a short address and the reading of the roll call. The Boy Scouts and the Cub Scouts will be on hand to participate in the services.
The Legion Firing Squad would greatly appreciate the support of the Community at our Services at any one or more of our stops. Please come out and join us in honoring our Veterans.
In the event of rain, the services will be held in the Abingdon American Legion Post 381 community room at the south end of town on Rt. 41.
