Meet Novemeber’s KFM Teacher of the Month

The latest KFM Teacher of the Month is Liz Tucker, a Kindergarten teacher at Williamsfield Elementary School. Liz was nominated by Mallory Motz, who’s son is a student in Liz’s class.  As KFM’s Teacher of the Month, Liz receives the Big Red Apple Award along with a $100 gift card and other gifts courtesy of Galesburg Nissan, Tompkins State Bank, Lacky Monuments, Cooks & Company, and 105.3 KFM. Here’s a little bit more about Liz:

What do you like to do in your spare time? Watch TV, read, go camping, play board games, and spend time with my family.
Something about me that you may not know: I’ve wanted to be a teacher since I was 6 years old. I was so inspired by my First Grade teacher and wanted to be just like her! Never underestimate the power you have even if you teach  littles!

Here’s what Mallory had to say about Liz:

What sets this teacher apart from others?
She is so easy to talk to and when I email her to ask a question she responds right away. She really wants you to feel at ease when your child is in her hands as she has kids of her own and states she treats kids how she would want hers treated. She is very organized. She has fun in class. When she reads she gets into the books and she sings along with classroom activities. The way she teaches reminds me of my teachers. She makes sure the parents know what is going on in the classroom. I love that.

What is one thing this teacher does that is not in their job description but they do it anyway to help you or your child?
When the kids had their first quarantine she went to everyone’s homes and delivered the kids folders so they could all do remote learning and have their folders and papers.

Give an example of a way this teacher has helped or impacted you or your child.
Weston feels very comfortable in her class and states how nice Mrs. Tucker is. She just makes sure all the kids are listening and participating. Just from never meeting her myself, I just think she is wonderful. I have watched her during remote learning and I think she just has a fun time with the kids.

Once again, congratulations Liz Tucker for being named November’s KFM Teacher of the Month from Galesburg Nissan, Tompkins State Bank, Cooks & Company, Lacky Monuments and 1o5.3 KFM
