Here’s what Kyle had to say about Chris:

What sets this teacher apart from others?
Mr. Carpenter is a dad to me because I know I can go talk to him about anything, and he will understand. Mr. Carpenter always goes out of his way to make sure I’m doing ok. I invited Mr. Carpenter to my graduation ceremony because I felt like he needed to be involved on my special day because he’s one of many reasons to be able to attend. I even asked Mr. Carpenter if he would be willing to go on a college visit with me, and he said of course! He has always been here for me. Mr. Carpenter has told me the sky’s the limit for me, because he knows I have so much potential. Also, Mr. Carpenter has told me he sees himself in me because he was like me when he was my age. Another thing, Mr. Carpenter tells me I’m the man because I go above and beyond. Mr. Carpenter cares about all of his students, and wants them to do their best. Even when Mr. Carpenter isn’t feeling well, he still manages to put a smile onto my face. No matter what he’s going through, he always puts his students first.

What is one thing this teacher does that is not in their job description but they do it anyway to help you or your child?
Mr. Carpenter has always been by my side through anything. Mr. Carpenter has taught me to be a leader because I have what it takes. He believes in me, and is willing to talk to me about it. He has always given me great advice on how to handle different situations. He’s willing to do his best for me, and it has shown me to appreciate the little things more. Mr. Carpenter told me that I’m truly an inspiration, and he’s proud of me. That makes me feel really good about myself! (I’m a former student to Mr. Carpenter)

Give an example of a way this teacher has helped or impacted you or your child.
Mr. has pushed me to do my best in everything I do. I honestly don’t know what I would do without him. Mr. Carpenter has inspired me to be a teacher, because he’s always welcoming his students. I want to be a teacher like him because I want to be able to see the potential in my students. Another reason, I want to be a teacher like Mr. Carpenter is because I want to be able to have a good impact on my students, and to explain to them if they need anything, they can come to me. If the world had more teachers like Mr. Carpenter, that would be just great.
