Here’s what Mary had to say about Chris:

What sets this teacher apart from others?
Mrs. Hill has taught 9 of my children so far, and over the years she has always brought science alive in the classroom. She encourages the students to work hard and expects much from them, but she makes sure they have the tools they need to do well. She often has labs for the students to experience science in action- to go beyond the book and touch, and see, and smell what science is about. She inspires scientific thinking in her students, which will serve them well as they enter high school and beyond.

What is one thing your teacher does that is not in his/her job description but he/she does it anyway to help you or your child?
Mrs. Hill is always ready to communicate to the parent and to the student about what’s going on in the classroom. She reaches out if there seems to be an issue with the schoolwork or behavior – she does not let small things grow into big problems.

Give an example of a way your teacher has helped or impacted you or your child.
Some of my children have had a hard time adjusting to the responsibilities of junior high, and she has always been there to encourage them to do well, and provided guidance to find better ways of approaching the workload. She never gave up on the kids – she stands there ready to guide and help.

Congratulations Chris Hill, January’s KFM Teacher of the Month from Galesburg Nissan, Tompkins State Bank, Lacky Monuments, Cooks & Company, and 105.3 KFM.
