Henry Co Sheriff’s searching for man who fired shotgun at police

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens to be wary of an individual who allegedly shot at law enforcement officers.

According to a release from the sheriff’s department, this morning just around 4:06 am, 30-year-old Jeffery Blunk of Geneseo fired a shotgun at deputies and fled on foot following a traffic stop in the Village of Atkinson.

Blunk was last seen wearing a gray shirt with khaki pants and has bleached blonde hair. The sheriff’s office warns that Blunk is armed and dangerous.

Assisting with the search for this individual ar the U.S. Marshall’s Service, Illinois Department of Corrections, Illinois State Police, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, and the Geneseo Police Department.

The sheriff’s office says to keep vehicles, homes, and outbuildings locked. A female subject in the vehicle at the time of the incident was taken into custody, the release says.
