Warren County crash leaves 1 dead – others injured

In the early evening hours on Saturday, August 29th, Illinois State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on 40th Avenue also known as Raritan Road near 40th street in Warren County. The vehicle, a 2001 Honda Odyssey, was traveling westbound where it is believed to have lost control and ran off the south side of the road, overturning, and coming to a rest in a cornfield. The driver, 52-year old Martin Polk of Macomb, and three passengers: 41-year old Michael Clark of Nashville, TN, 54-year old Patricia Polk of Macomb, and 49-year old Angela Alcantara of Macomb were all transported to an area hospital with injuries. 67-year old Cleaster Maye of Macomb was pronounced deceased. Martin Polk, the driver, was cited for Aggravated DUI, DUI, Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid a Crash, Aggravated Reckless Driving, and Driving While License Revoked.
